Cool Canines

Taylor and I went to the main branch of the Fort Collins library yesterday. We usually go on Mondays--time to turn in a few books and hunt down a few more we can't live without. Mondays have taken on a whole new level of fun at the library, as the summer programs they have planned for families are going strong.

Yesterday the library district hosted an outdoor show at the library with the Colorado Disc Dogs. Too cool! Taylor fell in love with the dogs (no surprise there) and rooted for her favorites. I tried my best to take pictures of the dogs 'catching some air'.

No air here, just a champion frisbee catcher and his
thrower getting ready to dazzle us!

Maggie and her owner were on fire! 2 minutes without one miss.
They are 2-time state champions, as well as 2-time world champions.

Taylor got to meet the stars of the show after all the
performances were finished. In addition to being very
talented dogs, all of the superstar canines were incredibly
friendly.

We did manage to make it inside the library after the frisbee dogs were done. Got some good books for the week and were headed home--until we ran into 87 of our closest friends! Seems everyone was up for some family time at the library yesterday. We saw friends from work, old playmates from preschool, friends from school and I ran into someone I haven't seen for years. It was crazy but wonderful!

Next Monday at the library the Kusogea Nobi Drum Ensemble presents rhythms, vocals and choreography of Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Puerto Rico and the United States. Taylor and I are looking forward to this one too!
